How to calibrate performance reviews on Bayzat

The objective of calibration sessions is to ensure that different managers apply similar standards in measuring and evaluating the performance of their teams. This helps limit bias and ensures that all employees get a fair and objective performance review.


How does it work?

As a manager or HR, you can calibrate performance reviews on the web version of Bayzat.

Depending on the settings chosen under Configuration, the HR or Line Managers will have the ability to adjust employee ratings based on their calibration sessions.

An employee’s review moves to the calibration tab when:

  1. Self - Review is enabled: Both 'employee self review' and 'Line Manager review' must be submitted in order to move to calibration.

    Please Note: If an employee is unavailable to complete their self-review, the HR has the ability to move this employee’s review to the calibration stage after the line manager’s review is submitted.

  2. Self -Review is not enabled: Review moves to calibration after Line Manager review is submitted.

    Please Note: If the Line Manager is unavailable to complete the employee review, the HR has the ability to fill in the review on behalf of the Line Manager.

In the calibration tab, the HR or Line Manager can click on ‘Calibrate’ to review and edit an employee’s rating.

  1. Line Managers & Employees rating for each goal is shown in this view.

  2. If a rating different from the Line Manager’s rating for a goal is selected, it is shown with an ‘Adjusted’ label.

  3. Once calibration is complete, the user can ‘Finalize review’

  4. This means no further edits can be made to the review and the employee review will move to the finalized tab.

  5. During calibration , the HR and Line Manager can add comments on the review that will not be visible to the employee. This is done from the ‘View remarks & activity’ section.

HR or Line Manager can ‘finalize all’ reviews

  1. If no edits to employee ratings need to be made, then they can proceed to finalize all reviews directly without any calibration.

  2. This will move all the employees review to the finalized tab.
